reality is as is.
don't ask why the Sun rises and sets, or why the flower blooms, 
the Sun rises and sets, and the flower blooms
those receptive will know the joy of the Sun's warmth
the joy of the flower's fragrance
but the Sun just is
the flower just is
for no reason.
don't ask these silly questions with this Mind,
but let the Mind remain dropped and open yourself to the wonder of Life.
to the wonder Life is. for its own sake.

Never belong to the herd even as you sit and move with them, and love them.

Sākṣi (witness) is not a "state".
It is the experiential awareness that all states are just as much a part of the dream regardless of whatever purpose they may or may not serve in phenomenal reality.
