There is an unfathomably deep sacredness about two people deciding to come together against all odds and walk the path to dissolution and to the ultimate union (or realisation, whatever you call it doesn't really matter)
through loving each other through everything with trust and devotion.
To love someone wholeheartedly again and again is to annihilate the (false) self. It is reverence. It is to make god the center of the relationship. It is surrender.
This inner attitude of service and devotion is also possible within any nature of relationship. With family. With friends. With the whole cosmos.
To receive each interaction as a message of god is to remain surrendered which is to say everything all the time is inviting us to turn inward and meet who we are beyond this seeming dance of phenomena and the intoxicatingly distractive reactivity it might stir up making us helplessly leave the royal throne of our spiritual heart.
