Intellect is confused for Intelligence, emotional resistance/reactivity for Sensitivity or emotional depth, though neither intellect nor emotion is capable of taking the lead in any situation. They are rather informers and it's you as Awareness that can be sensible without the influence of their functions which essentially is the movement of memory-experience also known as thought-sensation.
To be free really just means being free of this conditioning created by all impressions a.k.a. memory we call knowledge or experience.
To have no experience means to stop being a perpetuator and recorder of impressions/memory and not that we find newer/subtler ways to live in denial owing to our keenness to develop wrong views. It means to have touched the experience of non-experience a.k.a. Nothing/That after which things stop accumulating/sticking and then you begin to live like a lotus flower amidst everything, life not only becomes simple but is seen to be simple. As for Realisation, it keeps deepening and you just have to keep getting out of the way a.k.a. stop resisting/feel it all the way without telling yourself any story.
Example: someone unconsciously hurts me/gets mad at me and I feel hurt/pain. Instead of falling for the deception of the mind that might narrate this story "he or she hurt me/got mad at me" etc, I attend to and fall into the hurt/pain directly. I abandon the story (a.k.a. thought that comes up to perpetuate the dream.). As for the event that becomes the reason for coming face to face with the inner hurt/pain/lunacy, I do what's best in that context based on how clearly I can see without conflict or bitterness, but I can do my best only when I actually honestly face my(false)"self" (which is to say without getting carried away in the story-thought-image) however it may express itself a.k.a. being responsible for myself and understanding another from that place.
Remember, there are no enemies in any form anywhere outside and we only have so much time to waste on insane stories of the mind.
